Administrative

  1. Meeting minutes
    The minutes of the previous meeting will be presented.
  2. Schedule of meetings
    A proposed schedule of regional meetings for 2025 will be presented.
  3. Board of Directors meeting
    A summary of the actions taken at the May Board meeting will be presented.

Design Manual Items

  1. Project drainage report and detention practices (Sections 2A-4 and 2G-1)
    Modify language to meet Iowa Code 331 and Iowa Code 364 as amended by SF455.  Removed storm duration from calculation of the allowable release rate.

Specifications Manual Items

  1. Storage of flammable and combustible materials (Section 1070, 2.04, C)
    Add language prohibiting the storage of flammable and combustible materials from under overhead structures in the right-of-way.
  2. Slump and minimum flexural strength (Section 7010, 2.02, B, 1 and 3.05)
    Revise slump and minimal flexural strength requirements.
  3. Automated flagger assistance devices (Section 8030, 1.08, A, 3 and 2.06, D)
    Add language to allow the use of automated flagger assistance devices (AFAD).
  4. Erosion and sediment control (Section 9040)
    Revise spec language and figures based on last year’s revisions to the erosion and sediment control design sections and to match the current Erosion Control Technology Council’s (ECTC) guidelines.

Other

  1. Discussion items
    • Increase allowable pipe sizes for solid wall PVC pipe to include 27” to 60”?
    • Remove keyway joint details for pavements and sidewalks?
    • Transverse tining?
    • Other?
  2. Iowa Public Works Service Bureau update

  3. Products and/or research
    Committee members can suggest new products to be proposed for SUDAS manual inclusion; suggestions for potential research projects can also be made at this time.
